Who was Leonardo da Vinci?

Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy. Throughout his life he got introduced to the idea of painting through his fathers best friend. da Vinci painted almost all of his life. Even when he found out he had paralysis in his right hand, he still continued to draw and teach other people the beauty of art. This man was a very unique painter. He made a lot of money from the special talent he had. He had a keen eye and a quick mind that helped him grow such extraordinary ideas and discoveries about art. Even though he was a man who was an engineer for the military and made deadly weapons, he disliked the ideas of wars. He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, but he only left few of his finished paintings. Leonardo soon died on May 2, 1519 in Cloux, France.

 

What was art of the 15th century about?

In the 15th century artist had learned that the visual world was all about the naturalisim. They started to put a lot of light shadow and light colors in the
paintings. Most of all these arts were put into the churches. All of the money usually camefrom the church, the states, and even most of the wealthy families were giving money. All of the paintings represent the complexity of the time period. Here are some of the paintings names that were done during the 15th century.

3) Madonna and Child
4) Joachin and the Beggars
5) The Nativity of the Virgin
6) The Crucification
7) Saint Anthony Distributing His Wealth to the Poor

What was art of the 19th century about?

The 19th century was between the years starting in the 1800's-1850. There were 9 main century picture topics. It was the Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Academic Classicism, Realism/Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Symbolism. All of these majot groups had atleast two or more artists who would draw for them. In the Neoclassicism the painters were Jacques Louis David and Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. For the Romanticism the Baron A.J Gros, Theodore Gericault, Nicolai Abidgaard, JMW Turner, and Antoine Wierts were some of the painters for that category. In the Academic Classicism only Thomas Couture, and Jean Leon Germore had painted. For the Realism/Impressionism group the painters were Edouard Manet and Edgar Degas. In the Im pressionism it was Claude Monet-1 and Pierre Auguste Renoir. The Neo-Impressionism was Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, and Maximilan Luce. For the Post-Impressionisn it was only Vincent Van Gogh. Finally in the Symbolism group was Gustave Moreau, Paul Gauguin, James Ensor, Fernand Khnopff, Jean Delville, Franz von Stuck, and Edvard Munch. However all of these artist just didn't have on picture under those categories they had atleast more than 3 pictures each.

 

What was art of the 20th century about?

In the 20th century there were atleast 7 main pictures chosen to be very popular. One was by Pablo Picaso the Family of Saltimbanques, the other one was by Georgia O'Keeffe the Jack-in-the-Pulpit, third one was by Jackson Pollock which was the Number 1, 1950 (Lavender Mist), fourth one was done by Mark Rothko which was the Orange and Tan picture, the fifth one was created by Andy Warhol and was called, "A BOY FOR MEG." The sixth one was illustrated by David Smith the Circle I. Finaly the last one was created by Alexander Calder and called, "Untitled." All of these pictures were created
for a special reason behind them. Most of the pictures were by famous painters from the 20th century. Throughout the 20th century artists have challenged themselves with new things and tryed to creat and explore more brighter and bigger things. Finally throughout the years the painters took all of their ideas and extended them further and made some great painting including shapes and designs to it. That however made the pictures look more of a full picture that actually mean and looks like something. Mainly in the 20th century new ideas and variety of styles for the media were starting to be created. While the years went by and the ideas were still developing the 20th century was starting to draw to a closing and most of the artists still continued to explore new themes. Basically, the 20th century was one of the best known centuries for their arts.
